FICTION: EWA (Beauty) — Episode 2

EWA (Beauty) — Episode 2

Surprisingly, Ewa was at the backyard of the house, trying to harvest some vegetables.  She wanted to make some Egusi soup out of it, alongside the tubers of yam Aremu harvested from the farm. Aremu was quite astonished 😳 to see her because he had thought Ewa had eloped or something evil had happened to her.
Days rolled into weeks 📅. And on a particularly sunny afternoon, while Aremu was on the farm, his friend Kalejaiye (‘Jaiye for short) came around. Jaiye knew about Ewa, what she had been through, and what had happened to her parents back at Alagbagba village. Jaiye told Aremu that he heard from a reliable source that the robbery incident in Alagbagba village several weeks back that brought about the disappearance of Ewa’s parents and other people who lived in the village did not end well.  While the robbers were escaping with their fugitives, they came across some hunters who ended up killing them, leaving none of them alive. The hunters helped the fugitives find their way back to their respective homes, which meant that Baba and Mama Ewa were alive and back to Alagbagba village. Immediately Aremu heard this, he leaped for joy💃🕺. And quickly, he gathered his tools and hurriedly ran home to break the news to Ewa.

Aremu, on approaching the house, saw Ewa seated in front of the house.  She sat on a chair while her hand was placed on her chin, obviously, she was lost in deep thoughts 🤔and never sighted Aremu. And as he walked closer and closer, he shouted her name, which brought her back to her consciousness. Aremu shared the news with her. And Ewa leaped for joy, jumping and screaming all over the house👯. Aremu decided that they would both leave for Alagbagba village the following morning.
It was now daybreak🌄, Aremu and Ewa set out for Alagbagba village. Hours later, they arrived Alagbagba in Baba and Mama Ewa’s house. On seeing their daughter, they were over-excited, and they both welcomed Aremu and Ewa into the home. The atmosphere was a happy one. Ewa narrated everything that had happened and how she had come across Aremu. They thanked Aremu for his kind gestures and gave him fine linenettes to appreciate his kind gestures to their daughter. It was beginning to get dark, Baba and Mama Ewa pleaded with Aremu to stay overnight and have dinner with them. He was to set out for Kasope Village the following morning.
This leads us to the question; do you think something might transpire between Aremu and Ewa?
To hint you further, do you think they might end up dating and getting married💑? Do you see a future of them together🤷?  Find out in the next episode.

HAPPY NEW YEAR: Introextroverts (Dealing with Depression).

Why is depression so common among  introverts?  This question calls to mind a Stephen Hawking quote:  “Quiet people have the loudest minds.” This is very true and most true for introverts. Introverts tend to think too much and speak too little. That natural output, the cleansing of thoughts that extroverts or ambiverts experience is not something introverts experience.  Introverts, by nature, do not have those outlets, speaking deeply and freely only with very few(very trusted people.)Since they don’t have regular outlets they harbor trapped emotions and this tends to futher lend themselves to depression symptoms. Introverts tend to be perfectionists and are usually highly self critical, which leads to overthinking. This combination of over thinking, high self criticizing and the drive for perfection can trigger low self-esteem, feelings of guilt, worthlessness, melancholy and despair. These feeling, any combination of them actually, causes introverts to engage...
