Hello lovelies after few weeks we are back with something new and different this time. I was opprtuned to be in a make up and beauty online class organized by @houseofqueen__ you can check her page out on IG π I learnt a lot ah mean there were things I didn't know but all thanks to houseofqueen for the eye opener.
Before I go into sharing with you what I learnt I'd like to say a huge thank you to houseofqueen for giving me this opportunity to put this up here. Thank you so much for this opportunity I'm so grateful. π
P.s What I'm about to share here is not just for females only. it's for both the male and female gender.
However, it's going to be a long long read lol, but I'd implore you to be patient.
Now let's get down to business, I'd be highlighting the list of what I'd be sharing with you.
Today, I'd be sharing with you skin types obviously you know them but the question is how often do you care for your skin.(I mean youπ yes you in particular π)
- What type of skin do you have and how to tell.
- Caring for your skin type.
Knowing your skin type is very very important most people basically males would think what I'm about to say here is majorly is for ladies, No it's for everyone both male and female.
What skin types do we have:
We have the Oily skin, Dry skin and then combination skin or what you can also call normal skin.
After you may have known your skin type, you have to know how to handle it so that you can get the best out of it
I believe all skin types are wonderful as long as you know how to nurture it ✊πΌ.
For Dry Skin people, here are some tips for you:
#Confirm you are actually dry skined( the more reason why some people complain a particular product doesn't work for them because they do not know their skin type).
# Use hydrating products.
# Make coconut oil your friend.
#Drink a lot of water. (I'd refer you back to one of the articles I wrote on water and it's importance to your skin).
# Don't over exfoliate.
If you would ask me, What is exfoliation?
In the dictionary, it's removing a layer of skin in for "cosmetic preparation". In simple terms, EXFOLIATION is you removing the dead layers of your skin
In the easiest way, you are literally removing dirt from your skin.
Throughout the day, waking up, going out and sleeping, most of us are not even aware of what's going on with our skin.
Bathing alone can't take some dirt away so exfoliation is simply getting rid of that dirt so that it won't clog your pores therefore result in the feared PIMPLES AND ACNE Even if you don't have toners and cleansers, when you want to have your bath, take extra precautions for your face, by gently massaging your soap into your skin and rinsing it off, then you can have your bath.
Some of us are actually thinking right now like I actually wash my face but I still have pimples? π©WHY?
Which leads us to the questionπ½π½π½ How do you wash your face and with what?
Simply, wash your face with soap and water.
Let me shed more light on this.
There's a lot more to skin care than we actually think.
For example,
What do you touch during the day before touching your face again?
How often do you change your bed spread?
Because if you wash and wash and you don't caution your fingers or make sure your face lies on a clean place then we are basically working against ourselves.
Most of us neglect cleaning our phone screen, mean while you don't know that next to the toilet seat, the next dirtiest is your phone screen.
Yet we chat with our fingers and then carry them to our face
P. S With all honesty and sincerity, there are some skin conditions that might actually need you to see a doctor/ dermatologist for.
Some people have terrible cases of acne because it's in their gene.
For Oily Skin people, here are few tips for you:
Tip 1▶️: Unclog your pores by exfoliating by simply washing your face with soap and water and gently pat it dry.
Tip 2 ▶️: Use light weight products (this is mostly for ladies especially when applying your foundation)
P.s If you have oily skin, oily textured foundation and concealers may not be the best for you.
Also you might also want to watch what you are eating. Some types of foods make you sweat especially as a female... For example peppery foods.
You should remember not to over eat suyaπ©
It is recommended to Exfoliate 2 to 3 time per week, one of product that can be recommend is rose water and glycerin.
For those with dry skin too, glycerin is also good for you because GLYCERIN is a Humectant (any substance that promotes the retention of water) therefore, it moisturises your skin.
Don't forget the importance of drinking water too and eating fruits, it's the internal that affects the external. It's not all about cream ππ½
