THE GRASS IS NOT GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE🌿🌿

Remember when you were in secondary school and all you could think about was: ‘I will be happy when I finally graduate so I can escape this hell hole and I can finally do what I want to do with my life’. Remember?

The hallmark of the “grass is greener syndrome” is the idea that there is always something better that we are missing. So rather than experiencing stability, security, and satisfaction in the present environment, the feeling is there is more and better elsewhere, and anything less than ideal won't do.

Now let's go down memory lane remember this song by the popular musician Adekunle Gold "Ire" (Goodness) in his album ABOUT 30 the song goes like this:

[Verse 1]

The Grass Is Greener On The Other Side

That’s What I Thought, Before I Took The Ride

I Burned My Bridges, So I’d Never Look Back

But, If I Had Known

The Life I Was Searching For, Was Looking Me Right In The Eye Oh

If I Had Known, The Life I Was Searching For, Was Already My Own

Ire N Be Nile Oo, Ire Ayo....

Now I don’t know about you, but nowadays I catch myself thinking ‘I wish I was back in High school so I can get back to the easy days and escape this hell hole called "adulthood" and we tend to think that 🤔:

🤔 I want to travel the world and buy all the designer bags, designer shoes, wear the best make up etc.

🤔 I’m living the single life but I would love to be in a relationship like Jasmine and Tony

🤔 I’m traveling the world but I want a job and a nice apartment just like my friend Anthonia.

These thoughts make it feel like our lives suck but believe me, your life is probably pretty damn good! When we say that the grass is greener on the other side, we’re usually (if not always) projecting our own unhappiness or our dreams to outside factors (what goes on around them)

There are people out there that say that the true secret of happiness is wanting what you already have, and not only people out there right now have said that, that wanting what you have is the key to happiness has been said for a long time.

Don’t set your mind on things you don’t possess as if they were yours, but count the blessings you actually possess and think how much you would desire them.

I like to put it like this, instead of believing that the grass is always greener on the other side, you should try and nurture the grass you already have. After all, the grass is greenest wherever or where it is watered.

I'd conclude with the second verse of "Ire" by Adekunle Gold:

[Verse 2]

The Grass Is Greener, Where You Water The Ground

That’s What I Found, When I Took The Ride

I Realized The Mountain I’ve Been Climbing ,Is Nothing But Sand

I Didn’t Know I Already Had The Answer

No I Didn’t Know

But, If I Had Known

The Life I Was Searching For

Was Looking Me Right In The Eye Ohh

If I Had Known

The Life I Was Searching For

Was Already My Own.

HEALTHY LIVING

Today, we'd be taking a look at something everyone or better still everybody is familiar with and of which we obviously can't do without in a day, you’d agree with me it’s a miracle drink we all are ignoring. Wondering what it is🤷. I guess you are wrong. Today we would be talking about water and some of its benefits we all for most of us might know about and might not know about. Water is generally defined as a transparent, tasteless, odorless, and nearly colorless. Its chemical formula is generally known as H₂O. In case you don't know, Water covers 71% of the Earth's surface, mostly in seas and that's just by the way. I guess an average percentage of People might not know the benefits of drinking water and this is what we would focus on today.  Studies have shown that the human body is made up of about 65-70% water and so therefore, for our body to function properly and efficiently, it must be well hydrated.            ...
